Round 5 Bank of Ireland Under 18 Conference League 4.
Saturday 19th November 2016
O'Dowd Park Tralee.
Tralee RFC. 38
Castleisland Abbeyfeale 3.
Tralee RFC Under 18's dispatched with ease the opposition on a mild winter day in Tralee. The win was easier than expected but well deserved all the same.
Our lads were well organised and pretty clinical on finishing the moves.
Michael Leen Vega led the charge early on with a well taken try which were followed by scores from Cian Hill, David Boyle, Conor Murphy, Mikey Lyne, Joseph O'Connor and a real beauty from Donal Dillane in the corner. Robbie Murphy put in a great shift with some mighty tackles and Hugh Healy is getting better every week in the centre. The O'Malley boys are real leaders and Tim Kelliher is growing more accustomed to the number 7 jersey every week. Head Coach Alan Boyle said afterwards that 'the match really didn't tell us much about ourselves, however I thought we took our chances well and it was great to be able to give the lads on the bench good game time. The other pleasing factor was we didn't come away with any injuries. We took of full back Eoin off out of precaution and I thought Paul Lenihan did well there when he moved position. It was great to see Chris Love back after injury. We've five from five but the hardest tests are yet to come so we will be working hard again in training this week. We are looking forward to heading west next weekend for our next match.'
