Highfield Ladies Rugby team got word of a very
strong Tralee performance against UL Bohs last
weekend and challenged them to a match this Sunday. Highfield, lying 3rd in Division 1, have always proved a tough encounter but Tralee needed this strong challenge before the upcoming Cup and League deciders.

Tralee put what they learned last weekend into practice from the off and proved a
handful for the visitors. Tralee ran strong
lines and defended exceptionally well but were unable to break the Highfield
defence. Highfield, with a much larger pack, managed to rumble over the line
and score the only try of the game, which was then converted by their outhalf.
An impressive Tralee side valiantly held the Highfield team, dotted with Internationals, scoreless
for the rest of the game, coming close to scoring themselves on several
occasions.
Tralee should be proud of their performance this weekend and of the immense effort put
in by all.
