I would like to thank a number of
people: club President Leslie Benner for doing the honours tonight by presenting the trophies;
Tigger O'Dowd for his trojan work in preparing the pitches and equipment each evening for the
past 8 weeks; Jay Galvin and his team for the tremendous work in ensuring our pitches were and are in
top condition throughout the tournament; our own club Captain Bryan O'Sullivan and
his helpers for manning the barbeque and dispensing liquid refreshment week in
and week out; Denis
Kelleher for his camera work and website updating; and to our
band of referees, and touch judges, without whom we could not have run the event - their task is
often a thankless one and not always appreciated for their voluntary
contribution - I am indebted to each of you for your support.
And of course I must not forget to
thank all of, the players, for taking part and making the tournament a great
success. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves despite Mother Nature's best
attempts to rain us out of it for the past 2 weeks!
I say it each year and repeat it
once more - I believe the tag tournament will continue to be a success if we take steps
to improve it each year and so I would welcome (constructive) criticisms
and suggestions on how to improve it going forward.
I will complete the results sheet
tomorrow and would hope to finalise everything before the weekend.
In the meantime I hope you all enjoy
the Fancy Dress on Friday. There are still some tickets available.
