| Tralee played their first home league match against new division 1 league team Galbally on Sunday in O'Dowd park. It was a blustery day but dry so conditions were not too bad for the game. The pitches were in perfect condition thanks to the great work carried out by Jay Galvin and his crew over the summer. |

Tralee travelled to West Cork for their first match in the Munster Junior League. The weather was very overcast and the ground a bit heavy from the previous days rain but this did not dampen the play from the home side. Tralee were lacklustre in their play from the start and will need to improve if they are to reach the standards they have attained in the previous two seasons.
There were some promising displays from some individuals with scores of a penalty by Captain Gareth Walsh, a try each for Dan O’Connor & Cian Dillane and a conversion by Brian Mullanes. The squad is still settling in to the season and we would hope to see a much higher performance in the near future.

Conratulations to Bryan O'Sullivan, Joe Costello and Mike Deane on being selected to tour with the Munster Juniors on their to Barcelona. This is another great honour for our club, and our three players, and is particularly satisfying for Joe who is earning his first cap. |

Tralee travelled to the hilltop
venue of Crosshaven to target a few extra points to get them a better placing
in the league table at the end of the
season. It was a bright spring day down
south and perfect weather for a game.

The J1 Squad travelled to Ballincollig running down the 2010-2011 league fixture schedule. A bright sunny spring morning greeted the Kerry side and they were well prepared for this game to bring them into a comfortable position on the table. This Cork side are currently languishing at the lower end of this division and are in danger of being dropped a level so this gave the fixture a more cutting edge.

Galbally 17 - 13 Tralee
In the shadow of the snow capped Galtee mountains a
bright spring afternoon awaited the J1 Squad in this Munster Junior Cup quarter
final encounter with Galbally. The Kerry
side had kick off and, in a part of the country famed for it’s ambushes, the
men from the outskirts of the Glen of Aherlow had their own surprise start with
a speedy try within a minute of the start. Failing to convert this perfect start the home side pressed on in attack
gaining territory by pressing up the centre with their formidable pack and some
very strong rucking.

Biblical is how you would have to describe the performance of the 1st squad who turned out in force for their last home league game of the season. The Kerry squad were well primed for this match and they certainly kept “the best wine ‘till last”. |

At
home to Waterpark, where we left a game behind us when we travelled to meet
them earlier in the season. The team was
focused to play this game on Tralee’s
terms. The weather had improved for the
weekend and the pitches were just right for the game and with a strong breeze
from the west the home side decided to use this advantage for the first half. |
